Very often I prepare different kinds of marinades for meats on the grill and frying. Usually I just mix a variety of herbs and spices without any plan. Today, I decided to prepare mine version of gyros spice. Exactly for this purpose I bought a large stone mortar Feel free to try it out..

|Yield||for 2 bowls of marinade|
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- ¼ teaspoon of coriander
- 1½ teaspoon of marjoram
- 2 seeds of allspice
- 1 teaspoon of tumeric
- ¼ teaspoon of rosemary
- ½ teaspoon of charlock
- 1 teaspoon of sweet pepper powder
- Tea spoon
A method of preparing
- Triturate all components in a mortar – with the exception of turmeric and paprika.
- Mix in a bowl, so as to obtain a uniform color.
Finished! Ideal for meat marinating and other applications in the kitchen.
